What I Got My 4-Year-Old Daughter For Christmas

Even though Christmas is already over, I still wanted to share what I got my 4-year-old daughter for Christmas.

This post was supposed to go out before Christmas but before I knew it, Christmas was already here and I had missed getting it out in time.

I truly apologize for that because that was not my intention at all.

I debated on whether I should still go forward with this post because I doubt that anyone is looking for gifts after Christmas.

And I ultimately decided that I still wanted to share.

Yes, Christmas is over, but the things that I got my daughter are still good gifts in general that many 4-year-olds would love.

Plus with the new year here, this gift guide will come in handy for those looking for their 4-year-old girls’ Christmas gifts for the holiday season later this year.

So sharing what I got her is still a win-win.

With that being said, if you are interested in what I got my 4-year-old daughter for Christmas, then just keep reading.

What Kind Of Toys Are Appropriate For A 4-Year-Old Girl?

Before I share what I got my 4-year-old daughter for Christmas, let’s talk about this.

What kind of toys are appropriate for 4-year-old girls?

I actually asked this same question in the previous gift guide I did for my oldest daughter last year.

And in that post, I talked about how a 3-year-old is no longer considered a baby or even a toddler.

But at the same time, they are not considered school-age children just yet either.

Having a 4-year-old can feel similar in a way but the biggest difference is that most 4-year-olds are getting started on their educational journey by starting preschool.

If you have been keeping up with my blog then you know that my oldest daughter did start preschool in the fall of last year.

She has been really enjoying being in a learning environment surrounded by her peers and getting a feel for what school will be like.

So when I think of what is appropriate for a 4-year-old, I think of what will help further her educational development.

Along with her educational development, I also want to make sure I’m fueling her imagination and encouraging pretend play.

Most 4-year-olds have a very broad imagination that allows them to visualize and create a world around them.

For her birthday, she got her first dollhouse and it has been so cool to watch her engage with it and pretend to be the characters in the dollhouse.

Pretend play is a skill that is often encouraged amongst younger children because of the level of thinking it requires.

It gives them the freedom and control to pretend to be whatever they put their mind to.

And I personally think that this a skill that I want to continue to encourage in my daughter.

Now that we have an idea of what is appropriate for a 4-year-old, let’s get into what I got my daughter for Christmas.

What I Got My 4-Year-Old Daughter For Christmas

Gabby’s Dollhouse Musical Cat Ears

So the first few items that I got are Gabby’s Dollhouse toys.

Starting with these Musical Cat Ears.

My daughter has become a huge Gabby’s Dollhouse fan over this past year.

In my previous post on what I got my 18-month-old daughter for Christmas, I mentioned that I steer clear of character toys until my children express a legit want for them.

Well, my oldest daughter has expressed numerous times how much she loves Gabby’s Dollhouse so I obliged.

The level of excitement upon seeing these cat ears was well worth it for me.

Gabby’s Dollhouse Talking Pandy Paws Plush

Along with the ears, I also grabbed her the Pandy Paws Plush Toy.

If you aren’t familiar with Gabby’s Dollhouse, the main character, Gabby, sings a phrase where she pinches her cat ears on her head and then grabs her stuffed animal (Pandy Paws) before she is transported into the dollhouse.

And now my daughter gets to pretend to do the same thing.

I knew when she saw the cat ears and the Pandy Paws plush, she would be super excited and I was not wrong.

Gabby’s Dollhouse Garden Treehouse

And the last thing I got within the Gabby’s Dollhouse Collection is this Garden Treehouse.

For my daughter’s birthday, she actually got Gabby’s Dollhouse and the cool thing about this dollhouse is that there are separate parts that you can buy separately that attach to the dollhouse.

This treehouse is one of the attachments.

The plan is to buy her one attachment for each special occasion (birthday/Christmas) and this treehouse attachment is what she got this time.

Melissa & Doug Pediatric Nurse Role Play Dress Up

Next up are the Melissa & Doug toys she got starting with this Pediatric Nurse Costume.

My daughter loves to pretend and she also loves to dress up in the process.

Because of this, I have built a small collection of dress-up and role-play costumes for her to play with.

This costume set actually comes with a baby for your little one to work on as well.

Melissa & Doug Salon & Spa Play Set

While still on the topic of pretend play, I also grabbed her this Salon & Spa Set from Melissa & Doug.

For her birthday, she got their Nail Play Set so I knew that this would also make a great gift for her as well.

She loves to pretend that she is either doing my hair or her dad’s hair so this play set will definitely get used.

Melissa & Doug Wooden Pizza Counter Play Set

The last Melissa & Doug toy that my 4-year-old got is this Wooden Pizza Play Set.

My daughter has had a play kitchen since she was 1 and I like to get her different food pieces every year to add or replace the older food in her kitchen.

This play set comes with play money and everything your child will need to make, bake, and serve pizzas.

I know that this set will be a hit with my daughter.

Kinetic Sand Ice Cream Treats Playset

Along with toys, I like to make sure I get things that also invoke creativity.

And my daughter has been asking for Kinetic Sand for the longest.

So I decided that since she is older now, I will get it for her.

If you are unfamiliar with kinetic sand, it’s a lot like Play-Doh, but instead of a doughy texture, it is a sandy texture.

But the cool thing about this kind of sand is that it sticks together instead of breaking up like how regular sand would.

This is a great sensory kit and this particular kit allows your little one to create different ice cream creations.

LeapFrog LeapStart Learning Success Bundle

With my daughter in preschool now, I want to make sure that I’m getting things that will help her in school.

Which lead me to grab this LeapFrog LeapStart Bundle.

LeapFrog has been around for a long time and I can even remember when I owned some of their learning materials.

This bundle comes with the LeapFrog device itself and 2 interactive books that my daughter can use.

The books that come with this device are geared towards learning how to count and trace, word recognition, and even reading.

This bundle only came with 2 books, but there are more that you can buy separately based on whatever level your little one is at.

So I can see myself buying more books in the future for her birthday or Christmas next year.

But for now, we are going to see how this goes and how much she uses it.

Pen Control and Tracing Wipe Clean Workbook

I will be finishing out what I got my 4-year-old daughter for Christmas with the books that I got her.

The first book is not an actual reading book, but more so a workbook.

The workbook that I got her is the Pen Control and Tracing Wipe Clean Workbook.

One of the things that my daughter does every day at preschool is work in her workbook.

In her workbooks, she is learning hand control, tracing her numbers and letters, and drawing her shapes.

I want to continue this practice at home, so I got her a workbook that we can start working after she gets out of school or when she is not in school.

Preschool, Here I Come! Board Book

The next book, I got was Preschool, Here I Come! by D.J. Steinberg.

For obvious reasons, I picked up this book to add to my daughter’s book collection.

It’s all about the firsts that come with going to preschool and it’s written in a poetic way that your kiddo will definitely enjoy.

If you have been following along, then you know that we read books every day before bed.

And this book is getting added to our collection.

The Wonderful Things You Will Be Book

And the last book I got was The Wonderful Things You Will Be by Emily Winfield Marten.

This is a classic book that talks all about the dreams and aspirations that parents have for their children.

I want my daughter to dream big when it comes to her future and I want her to feel like she has my support no matter what.

This book gives me the opportunity to have that discussion with her.

.
